We are off to visit the Sun. What a great way to begin the new school year! The Parker Solar Probe’s mission to study the Sun is under way after a successful launch on top of a DELTA IV Heavy rocket from NASA KSC early in the morning on Sunday, August 12. Makes us think of the character Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story’s “To Infinity and Beyond!” mantra. It took lots of reading, research, and experimentation to make this historic event possible. Kudos and great respect go out to Dr. Parker for his belief that it was possible and his many, many years of dedication to making it so! Here’s a brief interview he gave right after the launch, which at 91, was his first to witness in person.  https://twitter.com/NASA/status/1028550218201985026?s=20
